Court schools UP over bureaucrats' wives holding ex-officio posts: Colonial mindset
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan asked Uttar Pradesh to amend its rules to end the practice of wives of top bureaucrats like chief secretaries and district magistrates holding ex-officio posts and said that it showed the "colonial mindset".
